TIME TO PLAN

We are less than two weeks away from the kickoff to our 2019 Kids Adventure Games season in Park City on June 14-15. Make sure you have all the information you need to ensure you and your family have a fun weekend of adventure. This is a new and improved course: we finally have a water obstacle at the UTAH Games! 

The Park City Kids Adventure Games starts and finishes at the Red Pine Lodge in The Canyons. This requires a beautiful gondola ride up to mid-mountain. A gondola lift-ticket for participants  plus their bike is included with the cost of registration. A $15/per person special rate lift ticket will be offered to spectators of the event, and spectators and families who have purchased their 2019/20 Epic Season Pass will have complimentary access to the Red Pine Gondola throughout the summer, including at the Kids Adventure Games. Flash your pass and hop on! *Volunteers will have free access to the lift. 

Have you paid for a 2019/20 Epic Season Pass but haven’t picked it up yet?  Before heading up the Red Pine Gondola, stop by the Resort Activities Center, next to Canyon Mountain Sports in Canyons Village, and pick up your pass.  Still haven’t purchased your 2019/20 Epic Season Pass?  No problem. Personal, Mandatory Gear List

Proper gear helps ensure a more enjoyable and successful experience. 

• Helmet - All racers must wear helmets throughout the entirety of the race. 
• Mountain Bike - A (mountain) bike and knobby tires is required for each racer. Don't have a bike? Many of the local bike shops will rent bikes for the event. 
• Small Back Pack with:
  • Water - All participants should pack at least 8 oz of water in a reusable water container on race day. We will have Hydroflask hydration stations at the start and finish area to ensure everyone stays refreshed and hydrated. We do not provide plastic bottles and are frugal with water cups. 
  • Small Snack - It's a good idea to bring a snack during the race.  
  • Small First Aid Kit - Basics like band-aids, neosporene and wet-wipes for those minor scrapes and bruises. 
  • Light Rain Jacket - We race rain or shine. This is a mandatory item! The weather in teh mountains can change on a dime. 
• Bike Gloves  - Bike gloves are mandatory to help protect your hands on the ropes and other obstacles on the course.
• Harness -  We'll provide a harness as needed, but you're welcome to bring your own.
• Life Jacket - We will provide a PFD for the water section and will be fastened by staff during the course.

Start Times and Wave Lists 

Start times and wave lists will be announced via email on Wednesday at 7pm the week of the event and will be published on the event web page. Make sure you, as well as your teammate, keep checking your emails to ensure you don't miss out on any important information leading up to race day.

There's plenty to do in Park City for families in the summer. Find lodging, book summer activities and check out all the wonderful things this destination location has to offer. 

Volunteers Needed

We are always looking for awesome volunteers to help keep our young racers safe. Volunteering is a great way to be involved in this event and give back to your young community. 

• Free Gondola Ride to get up to the start/finish
• Variety of Volunteer Positions - Including obstacle help, course marshals, transition areas, and start/finish help. 
• Discount for Parents - Parent volunteers of participants are eligible for a discount on your child's race entry
• Group Volunteering - We highly encourage groups of 10 or more to volunteer as a team building opportunity. Groups of 10 or more may also be eligible to receive a donation in their organizations' name from Kids Adventure Games. 
• Cool Swag - All volunteers receive a L.L.Bean staff tech shirt, and a raffle ticket for additional prizes from our sponsors, B4 Adventures, Yakima, Hydro Flask and a variety of local sponsors.
