IMPORTANT LOGISTICS

We are less than one week away from the kickoff to our 2019 Kids Adventure Games season in Park City on June 14-15. Make sure you have all the information you need to ensure you and your family have a fun weekend of adventure. 

Volunteers Needed

We are looking for awesome volunteers to help keep our young racers safe. Volunteering is a great way to be involved in this event and give back to your young community. We also have a few paid positions that we hope to fill. Please click here to see what they are. 

• Free Gondola Ride to get up to the start/finish
• Variety of Volunteer Positions - Including obstacle help, course marshals, transition areas, and start/finish help. 
• Discount for Parents - Parent/Family Friends volunteers of participants are eligible for a $35 discount on your child's race entry. 
• Group Volunteering - We highly encourage groups of 10 or more to volunteer as a team building opportunity. Groups of 10 or more may also be eligible to receive a donation in their organizations' name from Kids Adventure Games. 
• Cool Swag - All volunteers receive a L.L.Bean staff tech shirt, and a raffle ticket for additional prizes from our sponsors, B4 Adventures, Yakima, Hydro Flask and a variety of local sponsors.

Race Check In Times:

Check In: Base of the Red Pine Gondola, at the Canyons. Please park at the Cabriolet lot. Ride the free gondola up to the Canyons Base Area.

• Friday 11:30 am - 12:30  pm Skill Clinic Participants. You are also checking in for the race at this point and will receive your bib, swag bag and t shirt. You will need to bring your bike and the bike will be left up at mid mountain at the end of the day, ready for race day. Helmets stay with the athletes. There is overnight security with the bikes. 
• Friday 4:00 pm until 5:30 pm. Athlete check in. At this point you will receive your bib, your swag bag and your t shirt. You will need to bring your bike and load it on to the gondola with your bib number. The bikes will be held at mid mountain, ready for race day. Saturday, race day you will need to move your bike into the correct wave holding area. Helmets stay with the athletes. There is overnight security with the bikes. 
• Day off Check in: not recommended because of the amount of bikes that need to be loaded. If you are not able to make it on Friday, please be prepared to come half an hour earlier than suggested. You will need to check in, get your spectator lift access ticket and ride with the bikes up the gondola.

BUILD CONFIDENCE BEFORE YOUR BIG ADVENTURE

At each Kids Adventure Games event, adventure racers are invited to participate in an optional clinic to sharpen their adventure skills and increase their (and their parents’) confidence prior to the race. Skills clinics are designed to take kids of any age (6-14), gender, or athletic ability and prepare them for any outdoor, multi-disciplined event, like the Kids Adventure Games. Each of the clinics is run by our experienced clinic staff and features local experts who help build kids confidence, work on their teamwork and expose them to some of the challenges of race day. We always keep it fun, friendly, and positive.

Clinics last approximately four (4) hours each, and parents do not need to be present beyond check-in. Each clinic covers the core essentials of…

• Team Building

Kids registered in the Kids Adventure Games are given priority for attending skills clinics as space is limited to 60 kids per session.

When possible, we add skills clinic sessions to accommodate for demand.

Start Times and Wave Lists 

Start times and wave lists will be announced via email on Wednesday at 7pm the week of the event and will be published on the event web page. Make sure you, as well as your teammate, keep checking your emails to ensure you don't miss out on any important information leading up to race day.
